How is the equivalent budget calculated?
The calculator builds a weighted average of Eurostat's category price-level indices for each country, then applies the ratio between the two custom baskets to your budget.
What does a category weight mean?
A higher weight gives that category more influence on the result. Zero excludes it. The weights describe relative importance and do not need to add up to 100.
Will this match my exact living costs?
No. National price levels combine many goods, services and locations. Your city, household, housing contract and preferences can differ substantially.
